Single Channel Video, ASMR Audio 7 minutes, 16 sec. 2019

 

An ASMR (Autonomous sensory meridian response) video that tells the story about returning to a provincial hometown as an anxiety-ridden adult. While there, the narrator revisit their childhood experience of getting lost in the forest and the haunting possibility being spirited away.

Through the lens of magical realism, the work explores struggles with mental health issues, the emotional labors of living in contemporary society, and finding ties between the personally specific and local Philippine folklore.
